This week marked a milestone for the new Phoenix Plaza mixed-use, commercial residential building located at 530 E. North Bend Way.

After a natural gas explosion destroyed multiple buildings at the site in 2014 – and following two years of construction – the project has received a Temporary Certificate of Occupancy from the City.

The nearly 35,000 sq. ft., three-story building includes approximately 5,000 sq. ft of street level office/retail space, parking garage, 37 apartments on the second and third stories, as well as a new path connecting North Bend Way to Torguson Park.   According to the project’s construction manager, most apartments are 1 and 2-bedroom units.

The Temporary Certificate of Occupancy allows the commercial space and apartments to be leased while some remaining site improvements in the right-of-way are completed. The Final Certificate of Occupancy will be issued once those are finished.
